Growth and profitability
A few days ago, a large directory and accompanying letter arrived at Tardis HQ, informing us that we have been included in the 2017 London Stock Exchange Group directory of 1000 companies to inspire Britain. www.1000companies.com
The report shines a light on some of the UK’s most vibrant companies who have shown growth and profitability in a difficult economy.
Rather than blow our own trumpet, here’s a few words from those who contributed to the preamble of the directory:
The Rt Honorable Theresa May MP
“I welcome the LSEG’s focus in this publication on the UK’s fastest growing and most dynamic businesses”.
Xavier Rolet KBE. CEO London Stock Exchange Group
“ These companies are our greatest prospect for building a resilient and productive economy that works for everyone.”
· We observe from the report that 35%, over a third of this year’s companies come from the Northern Powerhouse and Midlands Engine regions.
- SME’s constitute 99.9% of businesses, employ 60% of people in the private sector and have a combined turnover of £ 1.8 trillion, 47% of all private sector turnover.
- 60% of annual revenue growth was in the Midlands.
Figures aside, we and our customers know, that Tardis Environmental was built on the hard work of a few individuals 26 years ago.
Yes, we celebrated a quarter of a century in business in 2016 from humble beginnings working from a small yard in Willenhall and have grown to employ over a hundred people, operating a large modern fleet of commercial vehicles, providing a comprehensive range of services from currently 9 branches (more in the planning stage).
There are no hard and fast secrets to success. Just lots of hard work and determination to be the best.
Keeping a finger on the pulse of the market, moving with the times, introducing new products and services to meet the demands of the relevant market sector.
A classic example of that being our H2O on site arm of the business which deals with bulk water and many associated services such as water testing, deep cleansing and chlorination, lab reporting etc.
Our fleet has grown as well as our staff compliment to meet the needs of our client base and our depots are strategically placed, the latest being at the busy port of Avonmouth near Bristol.
Indeed, Tardis is delighted with the recognition the entry in this directory offers, but we’ll not be resting on our laurels. Here’s to the next quarter century.
