A man running from deputies jumped into a septic tank and refused to
come out, according to officials.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said deputies came across a man
early Tuesday morning loitering in the middle of the street near Ansul Avenue
and Hosner Avenue in Ceres.

Deputies tried to talk to the man, when he ran away and jumped through a
hole in into an old septic tank.

Despite commands from the deputies, the man refused to come out of the
tank.

After about 30 minutes, the suspect came out of the septic tank on his
own free will.

After running a check, they found the man had no warrants and was not
wanted for any crime.

He was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
