We at Tardis are very excited to be helping out with the Crossrail project. Who wouldn’t be if you were helping with the biggest engineering project in Europe? Each Crossrail train will be around 200 metres long and be able to hold up to 1,500 passengers, this means that around 200 million passengers will travel on Crossrail each year!
Whilst working on the cross rail project Tardis have provided Tank Emptying services using our large fleet of vacuum tankers, Portable toilet hire (if you read the last blog you know how important that is!), high power water jetting and welfare servicing.
Working on such a project does come with ever changing demands however, and we are not ones to disappoint our customers or shy away from commitments! Recently Crossrail have upgraded all their requirements for HGV’s. These Requirements are things such as Fresnel lenses, side scan equipment, Under-run guards and vehicles must also carry signs to warn cyclists and pedestrians. We have made sure that all our vehicles working on the cross rail project are up to date with these requirements, and that our drivers are fully aware of their responsibilities.
More than 2,000 drivers have now completed the Crossrail Lorry Driver Induction training programme which has been developed in consultation with cycling and road safety campaign groups and the construction industry. All our drivers in London are fully aware and committed to maintaining the standards set by Crossrail. Everyone at Tardis looks forward to its successful completion and is proud to be part of a historic engineering project.
