Septic tank and the types of waste a Vacuum tanker can take!

When you have a full waste tank or septic tank you will need to have a septic tank emptying service or waste removal service. Septic tanks normally have sewage or waste water inside them with minimal debris. This waste can be collected by a vacuum tanker, which is only designed to handle wet waste with minimum debris.

If you find that waste tank you have has more solid to liquid then you will need what is called a disab tanker. These tankers are specially designed to be able to handle dry waste, with their greater suction ability. They are also known as liquid ring tankers.

Septic Tank Emptying

How do you know if you need a vacuum tanker or a disab tanker?

First thing is to check the waste that is located within the septic tank. If there is a lot of liquid and it moves round like normal water, then you will probably need a normal vacuum tanker. If you find that the waste within the septic tank is very dry and solid (like wet sand) then you will probably need a disab tanker.  It is important to try and establish this before you ask for a normal septic tank emptying service as you will get charged for the wrong tanker.

You can get tanks that help separate the water from the solid debris into different layers. These are normally called silt tanks. They work by allowing the grit and sand to settle at the bottom of the tank which then allows the water to sit on top for easy suction and emptying.

If you are still not sure about the septic tank waste then you can request a call out service, this is where we will send out our experts who will check the waste and will be able to give you an accurate estimate on what tanker you will need to perform the service.
